On July 31, 2026, Vietnam Gene & Cell Technology Joint Stock Company – VGCT (a member of CT Group) and Nghe An Eye Hospital organized a Scientific Conference and Strategic Cooperation Signing Ceremony to implement the Biological Cornea Project in Vietnam. The event was attended by representatives of the Nghe An Department of Health, the Nghe An Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Ophthalmology – Vinh Medical University, as well as leaders of ophthalmology departments and ophthalmologists from general and specialized hospitals, medical centers, and hospitals under ministries and sectors across Nghe An Province.
At the event, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at developing a high-quality workforce, strengthening technical infrastructure, and enhancing the professional capabilities of healthcare personnel, thereby laying a solid foundation for the implementation of biological cornea products in Vietnam.
The cooperation between VGCT and Nghe An Eye Hospital not only promotes scientific research and the transfer of advanced techniques, but also brings modern biotechnology solutions into clinical practice, opening up opportunities to protect and restore vision for thousands of people who are blind due to corneal diseases in Nghe An and neighboring areas, as well as contributing to addressing the needs of approximately 600,000 people living with blindness in Vietnam.
