In the morning September 5th, 2011, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with the presence of representatives of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Portuguese Republic, Mr Trần Kim Chung – President of C.T Group was honorably the first citizen of Vietnam who has been handed over the “Recognition certificate of Honorary Consul” of Portugal in Hanoi. Portuguese Republic still have not located the Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Tran Kim Chung would be oneto carry out the programs of cultural exchanges and introducing the Portugal to Vietnamese and contrast. Therefore this event is meaningful in trade relationship between Vietnam and Portugal and contributes to the stable co-operation between Portugal and Vietnam. The new office of The Honorary Consul of Portugal in Hanoi has got the first base in the 3rd Floor, 19 – 21 Dinh Tien Hoang Str., Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi and officially has opened from September 5th, 2011.
After the Exequatur ceremony in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tran Kim Chung and the Embassy of Portugal are planned to work with some governmental offices such as Government Office, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanoi People’s Committee, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and to visit some enterprises in Hanoi. In the evening of September 5th, the Inauguration ceremony of Portuguese Honorary Consul was organized at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, with the guests were the representatives of the Communist Party and Governmental offices and leaders of the Ministries and Departments in Hanoi.
