CT GROUP PRESENTS UAV & AGRICULTURAL ROBOT LAB TO CAN THO UNIVERSITY AS A SPECIAL TEACHERS’ DAY TRIBUTE

CT GROUP

The gift bestowed by CT Group upon Can Tho University carries a profound sentiment. It serves not only as a sincere tribute to the educators who have tirelessly dedicated themselves to the cause of education but also represents CT Group’s impassioned commitment to empowering the technological aspirations of future generations.

This occasion carries even greater significance as the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab was officially presented by CT Group to Can Tho University on November 20 – Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. This milestone coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the Faculty of Technology (now the College of Engineering, Can Tho University) and the 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors’ Conference, held at the university from November 19–20.

The 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors’ Conference gathered over 120 rectors and senior leadership representatives from universities across ASEAN, alongside partners from China, South Korea, and Japan. As a high-level academic forum with far-reaching regional influence, the conference creates an open platform for external relations, aiming to address common challenges facing the ASEAN region amidst rapid globalization and digital transformation.

On this occasion, more than 120 presidents and senior leaders from universities across the ASEAN region… had the opportunity to visit and expressed strong interest in the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab, located within the Research Laboratory Complex (RLC) at Can Tho University.

The UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab has rapidly garnered significant attention from both the academic community and the technology sector. Marking a first in Vietnam’s education system, the establishment of this specialized research facility for UAVs and agricultural robotics represents a bold stride in integrating high-tech solutions into education and research.

It is not only the current faculty who are moved by this development; generations of educators who have dedicated themselves to Can Tho University have also expressed their profound joy. For these teachers, the university’s acquisition of a professional, modern, and practical laboratory equipped with advanced technology is the realization of something they once “only dared to dream of” – previously visible only through models or textbooks.

As the pioneer who laid the foundation for the university’s high-tech training strategy, Dr. Duong Thai Cong, Former Rector of the College of Engineering (Can Tho University), shared his emotion: “What I have long hoped for, a genuine research and learning environment for our lecturers and students, has finally come to fruition at Can Tho University. On behalf of the university, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Group”.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of Can Tho University, also proudly shared updates regarding the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab and various collaborative research and UAV control programs on his personal social media page.

Commenting on the significance of the facility, Dr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Rector of the College of Engineering, Can Tho University, stated: “The UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab is not only a particularly meaningful gift for November 20, but also a major leap forward. It provides faculty with a technological space for hands-on instruction, bringing students closer to today’s most advanced technologies.”

What sets the UAV & Robot Agritech Innovation Lab apart, giving it profound significance, is that it features technology systems researched and developed entirely by Vietnamese engineers. This stands in stark contrast to conventional laboratories that typically rely on theoretical simulations or display imported technology models.

The operational launch of the Lab marks the concrete realization of the commitment previously signed between CT Group and Can Tho University during the scientific seminar “National Digital Twin – Breakthrough Technological for Smart Agriculture in the Mekong Delta”, held last September. In the upcoming phase, CT UAV (a member of CT Group) will continue to invest in agricultural robots to be integrated with UAVs on the NDT 15 (National Digital Twin 15) platform – a proprietary invention of CT Group.
