CT SEMICONDUCTOR: TECHNOLOGICAL INDEPENDENCE IS CRUCIAL IN THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY

CT GROUP

CT Semiconductor made a significant impact at the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, not only by showcasing advanced technological products but also by highlighting its commitment to mastering technology through comprehensive preparation across all stages.

Chip independence in defense is crucial for ensuring national security, reducing reliance on international supply chains, and mitigating security risks.

Aligned with this goal, CT Semiconductor has made meticulous preparations across all stages, from specialized ATP training for OSAT companies and R&D to Industry 4.0-based production. Notably, CT Semiconductor is fully equipped to implement a technician training program for semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP), addressing the demand for skilled labor and helping position Vietnam as a regional hub for advanced technology. With the capability to train around 1,000 technicians annually through its integrated training and production ecosystem, supported by a team of experienced international experts.ATP Training Program not only meets urgent workforce needs but also plays a key role in strengthening Vietnam’s involvement in the global semiconductor supply chain.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and several senior officials visited to experience the booth

In October 2024, CT Semiconductor inaugurated its ATP Semiconductor Technician Training Center at the National Innovation Center (NIC) in Hanoi, aiming to train 8,000 semiconductor technicians by 2030. At this center, experienced engineers from various countries will conduct specialized training for key personnel through the “Train for the Trainer” program, focusing on semiconductor chip assembly, testing, and packaging. The program targets engineers and final-year students in electronics-related fields, equipping them with the skills to master ATP technology.

“Additionally, we are focusing on designing specialized chips, such as chips for UAV and chips for data transmission, at our labs,” shared a representative from CT Semiconductor.

The Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, Nguyen Duc Hai, visited to explore the technological products of CT Semiconductor.

A representative from CT Semiconductor shared: “CT Semiconductor is focused on technological independence and building a sustainable ecosystem. We are a trusted partner specializing in semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP) within the OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) sector. We have also invested over $100 million in a semiconductor factory in Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City, which is the first ATP factory in Vietnam owned and operated by local expertise, not by any foreign direct investment (FDI). In addition, we operate 2 other ATP factories, bringing the total to 3 (2 in the South and 1 in the North), along with 2 R&D centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and 2 customer support centers in Silicon Valley, California, and Phoenix, Arizona.”

CT Semiconductor’s strategy recalls Taiwan’s approach to developing its semiconductor industry, which focused on specialization and technological independence to build a strong ecosystem and capture a significant share of the global semiconductor market. The company’s investments in infrastructure, workforce training, and research and development demonstrate the commitment of this Vietnamese business to mastering semiconductor technology, with the aim of becoming a regional high-tech hub, much like Taiwan’s achievements in the industry.

As a member of CT Group – one of the leading conglomerates in high-tech industries with 8 core 4.0 technologies – CT Semiconductor is receiving comprehensive support from the group to develop the semiconductor industry in line with Vietnam’s strategic vision. CT Semiconductor aims to become the leading ATP semiconductor manufacturer in Vietnam by 2026.
