WHICH INNOVATION MODELS WILL TRANSFORM THE STARTUP LANDSCAPE IN VIETNAM?

CT GROUP

In the context of Vietnam’s startup landscape, which still carries many risks and lacks effective guiding models for young entrepreneurs, the CT Innovation Hub 4.0 – a model already operating in practice, is being expanded and has the potential for nationwide franchising.

Unlike traditional innovation centers, which often lack mechanisms to create value from the very first days of operation, the next-generation Innovation Center 4.0 model – CT Innovation Hub 4.0 of CT Group, currently operating at 20 Truong Dinh, District 3 (former), Ho Chi Minh City, is designed as a comprehensive innovation operating system, where passion is ignited, talent is connected, and ideas are transformed into real value.

CT Innovation Hub 4.0 becomes a learning destination for young people.

This idea stems from the reality of youth entrepreneurship in Vietnam, with most early-stage projects facing risks from the very first steps and many fail before even reaching the real market. Alarming figures showing startup failure rates as high as 70%, leading to consequences such as families losing assets, young people abandoning their efforts halfway,… indicate that the current ecosystem still lacks a sufficiently strong model to protect young entrepreneurs from unnecessary losses while guiding them toward a path of creating real value.

From this context, CT Group recognized the need for an innovation model capable of reducing risks right from the starting point, while also creating conditions for young people to access the real market in a safer environment.

This is an interesting challenge, and we truly enjoy solving it. The model we are implementing can help reduce the startup failure rate”, said Mr. Tran Kim Chung – Chairman of CT Group.

In Finland, private innovation centers not only provide challenges but also directly receive problem statements from businesses, integrating them into entrepreneurship training and research programs to generate highly applicable solutions. This approach has enabled Finland to continuously transition toward a high-tech economy. Meanwhile, Israel, known as the “cradle of startups” – has developed an ultra-fast commercialization mechanism through the “Fund of Funds” model, in which problems are proposed by businesses, guaranteed by the government, and solved by universities.

CT Group operates this model with a new mechanism that connects supply and demand through a chain of high-tech solutions: solving real problems – creating real value – generating real profit, with the key lying in the ability to make the entire innovation process profitable. The profit-generation formula of this innovation center model is built on 3 core technologies: Web3, Blockchain, and AI.

When implemented in practice, the model delivers clear benefits for all three parties involved: young people can start businesses more safely by directly accessing real-world problems and reducing financial risks through rapid commercialization mechanisms; businesses gain a powerful source of innovation, where talented teams continuously provide solutions to optimize processes, improve productivity, and develop products at lower R&D costs; and society benefits from a profitable, self-operating, and scalable innovation infrastructure that promotes the knowledge economy, digital transformation, and the formation of internationally competitive startups. This structure has already proven effective in many countries and is now being adapted to create long-term impact for Vietnam.

The model already has its first franchise customer, which is Hanoi City, and several other organizations both inside and outside the country are also showing interest and wishing to implement and replicate the model in their own areas. The fact that regulatory agencies proactively choose to franchise it in their localities demonstrates the persuasiveness of an innovation model that is profitable, operated by core technology, and capable of creating immediate economic value.

This model received strong recognition when the city’s leadership and the business community discussed the questions posed by Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang: ‘What must be done for Ho Chi Minh City to become a center of startups and innovation?’ and ‘Where should we begin, what should be prioritized, and where will the resources come from?’ at the event ‘City Leaders Meet the Science –Technology and Innovative Startup Community’ held on December 9. If the model is applied, it could become a powerful catalyst for the city’s innovation ecosystem. With its large number of enterprises, strong demand for digital transformation, and a dense population of young talent, Ho Chi Minh City is an ideal environment for the model to maximize its effectiveness: generating solutions to socio-economic challenges, accelerating technology commercialization, forming a generation of startups with international competitiveness, and most importantly, turning innovation into a true economic resource that directly contributes to the city’s growth in the coming years.
