In a strikingly perceptive diplomatic move, Indonesia’s Minister of National Development Planning selected CT Group, a prominent Vietnamese conglomerate, as a key destination during his official visit to Vietnam.
Shortly after General Secretary To Lam’s recent visit to Indonesia during the Ramadan holiday, a high-level Indonesian government delegation promptly traveled to Vietnam to explore avenues for deeper cooperation. Leading the delegation was Minister of National Development Planning, Mr. Rachmat Pambudy – a pivotal figure in shaping Indonesia’s national strategies and budget allocations. He is also a distinguished professor at IPB University and a long-time observer of Vietnam, having made several study visits over the years. His decision to visit CT Group and engage in in-depth discussions on strategic collaboration came as a notable and thoughtful choice.
On the afternoon of April 17, 2025, Minister Pambudy, accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi, Consul General Agustaviano Sofjan, senior government officials, and executives from major Indonesian corporations such as Indika Energy, Nutricell, and Sungai Budi Group, visited the CT Group headquarters. The delegation was warmly received by CT Group’s senior leadership and staff in a display of sincere and enthusiastic hospitality.
Minister Rachmat Pambudy and the delegation presented commemorative gifts.
Though relatively discreet on social media, CT Group is steadily solidifying its position in Vietnam’s fast-moving landscape of science, technology, and innovation. As Indonesia aims to position itself among the world’s top five economies by 2045—emerging as a “sleeping dragon” of Southeast Asia—the country is aggressively investing in science, technology, and innovation. Its outreach to CT Group, still relatively underrecognized domestically, highlights the sharp foresight of the Indonesian leadership.
In the long term, CT Group is capturing international investor interest with its bold strategy to rise as a leading ASEAN conglomerate. With over 33 years of development, CT Group is a pioneer across 9 core sectors of Industry 4.0 technology: Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, Drones, Green Digital Currency, Carbon Credit Exchange, Zero-Emission Modular Housing, Electric Vehicles and Smart Transit Systems, Quantum Computing, Renewable Energy, and Gene & Cell Technology. Additionally, we maintain strong foundations in 3 traditional sectors: Smart Green Urban Development, Infrastructure and Green Logistics, and Clean Food & Healthcare.
Speaking in the meeting, Minister Rachmat Pambudy stated: “Vietnam has always been a trusted friend of Indonesia. President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno shared a deep bond of friendship, and that spirit continues today. We are delighted to discover that CT Group offers many of the scientific and technological innovations Indonesia needs. This is a promising partnership, and we will report this positive development to our President as soon as we return.”
The delegation also had the opportunity to tour CT Group’s cutting-edge technologies
In response, Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, proposed several long-term collaboration initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. “To realize this shared vision, we are in the process of establishing a Representative Office in Indonesia – led by Mr. Felix Ali Chendra and Dr. Handhi,” he shared.
A far-sighted and refined strategic outlook, grounded in genuine friendship and cooperation, is poised to open new horizons. As both countries look toward the future, there is strong belief that ASEAN will emerge as a key driver of the global economy, resilient in the face of all challenges ahead.
