A CORPORATION GIVES EMPLOYEES FIVE DAYS OFF TO HONOR THEIR PARENTS DURING VU LAN FESTIVAL

CT GROUP

Every year, when the Vu Lan Festival arrives, stories of gratitude and filial piety toward parents feel like pure raindrops falling on long-parched soil…

While social media is abuzz with discussions about taking extra leave after this year’s busy Independence Day holiday to spend time with parents during Vu Lan Festival, one company has quietly been implementing this meaningful policy every year, though few people know about it.

This year, because the Vu Lan Festival fell right after Independence Day, CT Group’s Vu Lan Festival break extended to eight consecutive days. This even surpassed the typical Tet holiday, which is usually only about seven days long.

The office was filled with a festive atmosphere, reflected in the radiant smile of Ms. Thuy Linh on the last working day before she boarded a bus home. She shared excitedly: “I’ve been with the company for many years, and every year I’ve been fortunate to enjoy a long Vu Lan Festival break. This year was an even bigger surprise, with the holiday stretching to eight days. At most other companies, only the Tet holiday is long enough to visit my parents, but here it feels different, almost like having a second Lunar New Year celebration.”

Amid the bright eyes of those eagerly awaiting their journeys home, there were also employees who chose to stay behind to ensure work wasn’t disrupted. Among them was Ms. Tuong Vi, who said: “In past years, I always arranged to go home early to spend Vu Lan Festival with my family. But this time, I chose to stay because I have to work with the factory to prepare large UAV orders, with the spirit of sharing the responsibility with the whole team. And honestly, staying has its own rewards: it gives me a chance to earn a little extra to show my love and gratitude to my parents, while also contributing more to the company. Recently, my parents have been watching CT Group featured on the national news, proudly telling our neighbors that Vietnam is exporting aircraft and that their daughter had a hand in making it happen.”

Their stories made me realize that work and rest aren’t opposites, but rather two halves of a balanced life. Work provides income, status, and stability; but only when the heart is warmed by family bonds does one gain the energy and inspiration to work creatively and sustainably. At CT Group, work-life balance is more than a slogan hanging on the office wall-it is a deeply rooted cultural value, expressed through the Vu Lan Festival holiday. It’s a time for employees to pause, return home, and recharge, so they can return to work with renewed energy and a deeper connection.

It made me think of pure, life-giving rain. There are summer days so dry that the earth cracks under the relentless sun, much like people who have been weighed down by worries and work for too long, without a true break. How long has it been since we felt those refreshing drops fall into our hearts, clearing our minds and softening our spirit? And then, the Vu Lan Festival arrives quietly, like gentle rain awakening life in parched soil, coaxing green shoots to rise again. Just like that rain, these days off during Vu Lan are a balm for the soul-offering rest after months of busyness, reminding each person to pause, to love, and to come home. And when they return to work, they carry with them renewed energy and hearts full of warmth.

The Group has many welfare policies for its employees

It is known that the Vu Lan Festival holiday is an annual benefit as part of CT Group’s “360-degree welfare policy”, a core element of its company culture. This year, the group made headlines both domestically and internationally for groundbreaking achievements in innovation, science, and technology.

“In recent months, all employees have worked tirelessly around the clock to meet project and event deadlines. It’s exhausting, but we’re proud because we know we’re doing meaningful work, creating great value for ourselves, the company, and the country. That’s why this 8-day holiday feels like a cherished reward. I believe everyone will use this precious time to rest, reconnect with their parents, and make up for the time they’ve spent working hard for the company.”

The Chairman of CT Group, Tran Kim Chung, shared: ‘Living beautifully is the ideal of everyone in our company. Gratitude is a core virtue of humanity, especially gratitude to one’s parents. When employees feel peace and connection with their families, they return to work with greater energy and a stronger sense of responsibility, spreading that dedication to the community, society, and the nation.’

This special gift from CT Group to all employees is a vivid example of a rare, human- centered business philosophy. It not only fosters loyalty and happiness among staff but also inspires the vision of a business that balances sustainable growth with nurturing spiritual values. Perhaps this is the measure of a truly progressive company: not only driving growth but also cultivating peace; not only teaching people to work well but also reminding them to love deeply. Hopefully, more organizations will follow CT Group’s example, spreading meaningful policies to keep the spirit of filial piety alive in every Vietnamese heart.
