There is a business that has been quietly, persistently, and courageously transforming itself for 33 years alongside the country, never forgetting for a moment, so that today it can affirm: Vietnam can completely rise up with technology created and mastered by the Vietnamese themselves…
Looking back at history, what did CT Group announce on June 29, 2022, the day the Corporation celebrated its 30th Anniversary and received the First-Class Labor Medal?
Founded in 1992 as a low-profile enterprise in import–export, manufacturing, trading, and real estate, CT Group has today become a pioneering technology corporation of Vietnam. In 2022, CT Group was awarded the First-Class Labor Medal on the occasion of its 30th anniversary (June 29, 1992 – June 29, 2022). On the very same day, the corporation officially announced its 30-year development strategy for the future, built on nine core technology sectors – meticulously researched and prepared in the preceding years – including: Semiconductor technology; Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Low Altitude Economy (LAE); Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation; ESG with carbon credits, low-emission robotic housing, CCTPA, and CT Modulex; Green Crypto Currency; Electric Vehicles and Autonomous Trains; New Energy Technology; Gene & Cell Technology; and Quantum Technology.

And today, looking back on the journey, one can truly appreciate the value of the strategy team. Not to mention, moving from strategy to execution has never been simple. This has been a path filled with countless thorns and challenges—an experience that very few Vietnamese enterprises have undergone. There are many things that can only now be told.
How did CT Group weather so many global economic crises?
In 1997–1998, when the financial crisis spread across Asia, it was also the period when CT Group, with its young team, was vigorously promoting rice exports to Eastern Europe, coconut coir nets to Korea and Japan, while importing construction machinery and assembling CT-branded landline telephones such as the CT 1000 and CT 2000. Exporting was extremely difficult, but collecting payments amid the financial turmoil was even harder, when every day in Seoul, businessmen were seen jumping into the Han River. The team racked their brains until one idea suddenly lit up – barter trade (exchanging goods for goods), with only the OEM stage adjusted to suit Vietnam. In the end, the puzzle was solved. Everyone in the company, from accountants to security guards, focused on selling goods. In this way, CT Group, with resilience and creativity, managed to get through not only the Asian financial crisis of 1997–1998, but also the crises of 2007–2008 and 2020–2021, in an extraordinary manner. All the while, it maintained its core value as a business for the community. The achievements forged in the midst of storms were fairly and consistently recognized by the State: in 2012, CT Group was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal; in 2017, the Second-Class Labor Medal; and in 2022, the First-Class Labor Medal.
After announcing its nine core high-tech industries on June 29, 2022, what did CT Group do?
With thorough preparation long before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, in the first three years (2022–2025) of its second 30-year strategy (2022–2052), CT Group focused intensively on human resource development and R&D in technology. This laid the groundwork for 2025 to become a breakthrough year of product innovation and commercialization, with the launch of advanced products across all nine core high-tech industries. Indeed, 2025 marks a milestone of remarkable growth for CT Group in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
In alignment with Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, along with a suite of four foundational national resolutions for the new development phase of the country, CT Group has positioned itself as a true pioneer in driving breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
For CT Group, the Resolution is like adding an ultimate weapon: the will of Vietnam and the intelligence of Vietnam. It is a driving force, ushering in a new era. After years of silent investment, the Group is entering a breakthrough phase with core technology products.
Within just six months of implementing Resolution 57, CT Group accomplished the equivalent of two years’ work: nearly 100 conferences and seminars on Vietnamese youth and Resolution 57, along with a series of activities in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation leading up to the Grand Celebration on April 30, 2025—the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
On April 29, CT Group inaugurated Vietnam’s first 4.0 Innovation Hub—CT Innovation Hub 4.0. The Group also donated an Innovation Hub 4.0 to Hanoi at 46 Tran Hung Dao Street, which will be inaugurated during the Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee.
On April 30, 2025, CT Semiconductor (a member of CT Group) broke ground on Phase 2 of Vietnam’s first semiconductor chip plant fully mastered by Vietnamese technology.
Beyond digital transformation, CT Group is also at the forefront of green transformation with CCTPA – the carbon credit trading platform within Ho Chi Minh City’s International Financial Center – backed by hundreds of projects aligned with the dual goals of economic growth and sustainability.
Launch of Vietnam’s First 100% Domestically Designed ADC Chip
On June 29, 2025, Diginal (a member of CT Group) launched Vietnam’s first 12-bit chip design with a sampling rate of 200 MSPS – developed entirely by Vietnamese engineers.
On August 12, 2025, CT Group secured an export order for 5,000 heavy-lift unmanned aerial vehicles to South Korea as part of General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to South Korea. Currently, both sides are working closely on this order. Currently, CT Group’s 5 factories are urgently preparing for orders, especially the casting factory, which is preparing many difficult parts.
CT Group has an export order for 100 million semiconductor chips to South Korea as part of General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to South Korea.
In July 2025, the 15-layer National Digital Twin will begin pilot testing in Da Nang City.
Donating VND 100 billion to Ho Chi Minh City National University, donating an agricultural pilot training school to Can Tho University and many other universities.
And especially on the occasion of the National Day on September 2nd, CT Group will announce a special gift for 600,000 Vietnamese people who are permanently blind, and 300,000 people who are caring for them. Not only did it bring overwhelming happiness to the people, but it also created nearly 1% more new jobs, potentially contributing almost 1% more to the national GDP.
The 33-year journey, from a private start-up in the context of a nation still facing many hardships, has now grown into a Group with 68 member companies, a presence in 12 countries, and operations across 12 core industries with a strong focus on core 4.0 technologies. Throughout this journey, CT Group has always tied its growth to the aspirations of the nation.
“Eighty years ago, our ancestors fought for national independence; today, it is time for us to rise and fight for independence in science and technology, so that our children can hold their heads high as they step into the world, conquer the 4.0 science and technology revolution, and show the world a new and powerful Vietnam,” shared Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group.
Accompanying the nation’s rise to be recognized on the global technology map, the 33-year journey of CT Group has been filled with obstacles, sweat, and tears – undertaken by a resilient collective, together with the unwavering support of more than one hundred domestic and international universities, Vietnamese scientists, and overseas Vietnamese.
CT Group has been, is, and will continue to stand alongside the nation on a new journey where Vietnamese will and Vietnamese intelligence form the solid steel core for the country’s ascent. This is a declaration of steel: Vietnam can absolutely rise through its own technology, and CT Group has chosen to be the living testament to that affirmation.
