On the afternoon of June 10, 2025, the inaugural congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) was officially launched for its first term (2025–2030), marking a milestone in advancing green models, sustainable, and socially responsible business practices in Vietnam.
The Executive Committee of HGBA consists of 52 elected members, including 17 Standing Committee members and 3 Supervisory Board members, representing a wide range of sectors from manufacturing, construction, and energy to finance and technology
HGBA will focus on pioneering initiatives to promote environmental protection and sustainable development nationwide. Rather than functioning as a purely administrative organization, HGBA is envisioned as a dynamic action network, where large enterprises guide smaller ones, where green knowledge and solutions are widely shared, and where every member can begin or accelerate their sustainable transformation journey.
Accordingly, the operations of HGBA are based on four core values: harmony through cooperation and shared growth; commitment to environmental and community well-being; boldness in innovation and pioneering action; and continuous progress in green solutions and technologies.
HGBA will serve as a bridge to accompany its member enterprises in enhancing competitiveness, innovating technology, accessing green finance, and aligning with global standards. At the same time, the Association will act as a policy partner, reflecting real-world business practices and proposing practical support mechanisms for enterprises during their green transition.
The establishment of HGBA is a concrete step toward realizing Vietnam’s COP26 commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. It also represents a strategic move to help Vietnamese enterprises swiftly adapt to the green economy trend, elevating both national standing and value in the global market.
At the Congress, Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of the Board at Secoin Corporation, was elected as the first-term President of HGBA. Known for his pioneering initiatives in green materials development and his outstanding contributions to the business community, Mr. Dinh Hong Ky is expected to lead HGBA as a core driver of the green transformation in Ho Chi Minh City and across the country.
HGBA marks not only the beginning of a green journey for enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, but also opens up opportunities for extensive domestic and international cooperation, working together to create a prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future for generations to come.
Within the framework of the Congress, a themed panel discussion attracted strong interest from the business community and professionals. Both local and international speakers exchanged insights on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in the green transition, especially in the context of increasingly stringent ESG standards in global supply chains and consumer markets.
